Peter Larkin

Peter is a Chartered Engineering Geologist with over 35 years worldwide experience in the offshore Geotechnical / Civil Engineering Industry including the Oil & Gas and Renewables Energy sectors. Peter has previously worked for a variety of civil engineering, geotechnical and subsea installation contractors and consultancies as well as having had significant involvement with the onshore geotechnical and energy sector.

In addition, Peter has a number of affiliations to various professional bodies, including: The SUT/OSIG, OSIF, ICE-BGA, GSL and IAEG. He is also a Scrutineer for the GSL C.Geol Chartership programme.

Outside of the Geo-world, Peter takes any opportunity to head into the hills and onto the sea – a retired ‘adventure racer’ and now Community Emergency Volunteer in his hometown.  Peter also enjoys current affairs, energy polemics, the kaleidoscope world of music and good wine – not necessarily in that order.

  • A professionally qualified and chartered engineering geologist with experience in offshore energy and telecommunication/power cable sectors.
  • Has carried out geotechnical engineering, project and location management roles worldwide in the capacity of contractor, consultant and client.
  • Significant experience of offshore geotechnical site investigations and geotechnical processes, coastal/maritime civil engineering projects, offshore construction & subsea installation projects, including all aspects of pipelines, umbilical and cables planning & installation, deep water cable route surveys.
