Site Investigation support on the Caledonia Offshore Wind Farm
At Ternan Energy we are proud to announce our role in supporting Ocean Winds for ongoing site investigation surveys at the Caledonia Offshore Wind Farm. This significant project marks a major milestone, further solidifying our position as a critical partner in Scotland's offshore wind supply chain.
The Caledonia project
The Ocean Winds Caledonia project is a substantial undertaking, envisioned to be a major contributor to Scotland's renewable energy portfolio. Situated off the east coast of Scotland, in the Moray Firth, the wind farm holds the potential to generate up to 2 gigawatts (GW) of clean electricity, enough to power 2 million homes.
The Ternan experts
Our team of experts will be instrumental in the site investigation phase, a critical step in ensuring the project's success. The framework allows our highly skilled team to potentially support Caledonia in upcoming Geophysical, Geotechnical and Site Preparation survey campaigns, including the provision of Offshore Client Representation, to gather crucial data on seabed conditions. This data will be fundamental in informing the design, construction, and operation of the wind farm.
"We are excited to strengthen our relationship with Ocean Winds and to have them put their trust in Ternan to support this important stage of the Caledonia project. The Site Investigations of any offshore project are crucial to its success and the team are looking forward to bringing their expertise to another project that will support the energy transition.
It's also great to see Ocean Winds continued commitment to supporting the local supply chain and this is proof that ScotWind is good for Scottish companies." Euan Marjoribanks, Sales & Marketing Manager, Ternan Energy
Ternan Energy's proven track record in the offshore wind sector makes us an ideal partner for Ocean Winds. The company has a successful history of managing site investigation survey campaigns for multiple offshore wind projects.
"Specialist survey and site investigation work is vital to advancing Caledonia towards construction, and Ternan Energy's appointment demonstrates that the Scottish economy is capable of competitively delivering the skills and expertise needed for success in the global offshore wind supply chain." Sandy Douglas, Surveys and GIS Manager, Ocean Winds
