The vast structures in offshore renewable developments are impressive. But it’s the cables connecting them that allow renewable energy – and revenue – to flow. And there are no cables more crucial than interconnectors.

As the world transitions to more sustainable energy systems, subsea interconnectors will play an increasingly important role in a secure, resilient and affordable energy supply. But it’s crucial that these energy superhighways are sustainable and protected from risks.

We have the extensive ocean engineering expertise to make sure interconnectors are positioned and protected for long-term dependability – safe from anthropogenic, geophysical and geotechnical threats.

Our services include:

Interpretation of geophysical, geotechnical and geospatial data for desktop and geohazard studies (e.g. slope stability, HDD engineering) for offshore, nearshore and landfall cable projects.
Scoping, design, specification and management of site investigations for subsea interconnector projects.
Trenching and cable route burial analyses (e.g. natural and anthropogenic risks).
Cable burial risk assessment (CBRA), route position lists (RPL) and route alignment charts.
