Ternan Energy Awarded Independent Driveability Review for UKCS FPSO Mooring Piles

Ternan Energy has been retained by an Aberdeen based oil company, to perform an independent review of pile driveability of the mooring system for an FPSO vessel in the Northern North Sea.

The work will see Ternan review the available survey information for the site and develop characteristic soil parameters for piling analyses. Soil Resistance to Driving (SRD) profiles for the anchor clusters will be developed and applied to outputs from the commercially available GRLWEAP software to select a suitable piling hammer for the works.

Mark Finch, Director of Ternan Energy, commented, “We are very pleased that an international oil company has awarded us this engineering work. It reinforces Ternan’s capability and growing reputation in the offshore geotechnical and foundation design space in Aberdeen and beyond”.
