2024 has seen a period of sustained growth at Ternan Energy as we have continued to establish ourselves as a key link in the offshore wind supply chain. This year has seen new hires to strengthen our existing team, staff recognition and promotions, and new offices across the country. We have also grown our client base which has increased our involvement in supporting the development of offshore wind projects across Europe, North America and APAC.
Growth of the leadership team
Aggie Georgiopoulou and James Deacon joined the leadership team to become more involved with development of the business and to lead our technical teams.
Aggie Georgiopoulou, Geoscience Manager said “Since joining Ternan, I have been able to input into a wide range of projects supporting our clients where their work has been both challenging and rewarding. To have been promoted in recognition of this hard work and now being asked to contribute to the future success of Ternan is a real privilege.”
James Deacon, Geotechnical Manager said “Ternan is at an exciting point in its growth and we’re working in an important sector, doing important work, which is helping our clients bring about the energy transition. Being able to contribute to the future of the company is a privilege and a challenge I am looking forward to taking on.”
New offices
Ternan have continued to expand their presence in Scotland. A new office has recently opened in South Queensferry, Edinburgh, as the capital is fast becoming a hub for the offshore wind industry. Our new office allows us to support our clients and their projects while allowing us to continue recruiting the best talent in the industry.
At the same time, the relocation of our Chichester office to Brighton allows us to be more central to the offshore geoscience community on the South Coast. By moving closer to our Clients, we can also offer the team flexibility and improved work/life balance, which is a core value here at Ternan.
Team excellence
2024 also brought further promotions in the team, with Jess Martin becoming a Senior Geoscientist and Sam Prior becoming a Project Geotechnical Engineer.
Ewan Fielding has been promoted to Senior Geotechnical Engineer. Ewan says “It’s nice that the hard work and effort I put into my work get recognised here at Ternan, and I am very grateful for Ternan’s continued trust and confidence in me.”
A proud moment for the whole team was Richard Luker being elected as a Chartered Geologist by The Geological Society of London.
Since joining Ternan, Richard has demonstrated his passion for geology and in-depth knowledge and understanding of offshore energy projects to support many of our Clients’ projects in the UK and internationally. In recognition of this hard work, Richard was promoted to Principal Geotechnical Engineer.
Richard says, “The work at Ternan is varied and enjoyable. I am able to work offshore as a client representative, but I also provide support to offshore energy projects in the UK and overseas using the practical, geological and technical knowledge I have gathered across my career. It’s also great to receive my Chartership, and being recognised by my peers for competency as a Geologist and Geotechnical Engineer is something I have worked towards for a long time.”
Team Growth
To support our plans for growth and strengthen our offering to our clients we are pleased to welcome Samarth Bachkheti to the company as a Senior Geoscience Engineer focused on developing and enhancing our data processing capabilities. Samarth has a proven track record of adding value to the projects he has been involved in and has already demonstrated this to several of our client projects since joining the team.
We have also had some of the Ternan team move on to pastures new, and whilst it is never enjoyable having good people leave, it’s encouraging to see them move onto different and exciting new opportunities and knowing that their time at Ternan has helped them with their career progression.
Mark Finch, Managing Director at Ternan says, “2024 has been a period of significant growth at Ternan and we are not done yet. We could not be more proud of our team, seeing hard work pay off and careers progress with Ternan Energy. I’m excited to see what the future holds for Ternan and look forward to playing an important part in helping to deliver the energy transition we need.”
